Our Values

These commitments shape our life together. We don’t always get it right, but we’re always growing into them as a church.

  • Church Begins with Worship

Every week, we gather to celebrate the love that holds everything together. In worship, we remember who God is, who we are, and the grace that makes us whole.

God’s love isn’t just an idea - it’s a living presence we encounter. In worship, we step into God’s story, encounter the risen Christ, and are filled again with the Holy Spirit. Then we’re sent back into the world to live and love like Jesus.

    God’s presence. Our purpose.

  • We Teach What Transforms

The Bible isn’t just a book - it’s a voice. It tells the story of a God who loves us enough to speak, to draw near, and to change everything through Jesus.

Our preaching and teaching are thoughtful, honest, and grounded in Scripture. Through them, we trust the Spirit to make us more like Jesus.

Deep truth. Real grace. Life-changing Jesus.

  • We Love Where Love Leads

We believe everyone has gifts to share, so we don’t just talk about love - we live it - and we help each person find their unique way to serve.

From our neighborhoods to the nations, we show up where there’s need, trusting that this is where Jesus leads, why we’ve received gifts from the Spirit, and how God’s goodness is made known in the world.

God is love. And so we are learning to love.

  • We Spell Church Together

We believe in circles, not just rows, because faith isn’t something you do alone. It grows in community - through friendships, hard conversations, shared meals, laughter, prayer, and showing up for each other.

Jesus gives us to one another as a new kind of family, where love is practiced, grace is shared, and no one walks alone.

A people to become. A place to belong.

What We Believe

We believe the true story of God matters, because it reveals the hope of all creation.

  • The Living God - Father, Son, and Holy Spirit

When the church says, “I believe,” we mean, “I trust.” We’re declaring who God is revealed to be in the Bible. In this sense, our belief - our faith - is the story of Scripture.

Together with the larger church, we proclaim the mystery of who God is through the Nicene Creed.

    We believe in one God,

    the Father, the Almighty,

    maker of heaven and earth,

of all that is, seen and unseen.

We believe in one Lord, Jesus Christ,

    the only Son of God,

    eternally begotten of the Father,

God from God, Light from Light,

    true God from true God,

    begotten, not made,

    of one Being with the Father;

through him all things were made.

For us and for our salvation

    he came down from heaven,

was incarnate of the Holy Spirit and the Virgin Mary

    and became truly human.

    For our sake he was crucified under Pontius Pilate;

he suffered death and was buried.

On the third day he rose again

    in accordance with the Scriptures;

    he ascended into heaven

and is seated at the right hand of the Father.

He will come again in glory to judge the living and the dead,

and his kingdom will have no end.

We believe in the Holy Spirit, the Lord, the giver of life,

who proceeds from the Father and the Son,

who with the Father and the Son is worshiped and glorified,

who has spoken through the prophets.

We believe in one holy catholic and apostolic Church.

We acknowledge one baptism for the forgiveness of sins.

We look for the resurrection of the dead,

and the life of the world to come.

    Amen.

  • A Living Faith

We believe in a big tent Christian faith - where Jesus Christ is our center and goal, the Holy Spirit is our guide, and the great cloud of witnesses provides us with companions for the journey.

This faith is meant to be lived - formed in worship, practiced in community, and lovingly carried into the world for the good of our neighbors and for the glory of the God in whom we live and move and have our being.

  • A Faith Worth Living

When we follow Jesus, we step into God’s great story - the healing of all creation. It is learning to live life rooted in faith, hope, and love, trusting in the God who is making all things new in Jesus. It’s learning the joy of the Holy Spirit at work in you, to work through you, to see God’s saving love made visible in the world.

Because we believe in God’s big story, we're not afraid of big questions. We believe that trust and doubt, learning and growth, are not failures of faith, but signs that faith is alive.

  • Our Denominational Home

Our congregation is part of the Presbyterian Church (U.S.A.). Regionally, we are part of the Presbytery of San Gabriel, sharing life and mission with other congregations in our area.

  • A Confessional Church

We believe there are times when the church needs to declare what it believes as a result of studying and praying the Bible. In our Presbyterian heritage we call these declarations confessions, and because of that we call ourselves a confessional church.

While we do not believe these confessions always get everything right, we trust they serve as a helpful guide for individuals and churches seeking to be faithful to Jesus. In the Presbyterian Church (U.S.A.) our confessions are gathered together in our Book of Confessions, where they continue to shape our life and faith.

How We Hold Our Faith

Authentic Christian faith is never something we hold alone. It is a faith formed in community, shaped by worship and practice, and lived in conversation with the wider church across time and around the world.

This shared life of faith is how we follow Jesus, grow together, and share God’s love with neighbors near and far.
